Teaching method
During the 2012/13Semester we are going to take a practical, case-law oriented approach to the acquisition of basic skills as to the structure and nature of a supranational body of law: European Law.
Two initial weeks will be devoted to historical context and institutional development. We will also skim through the www.europa.eu website focusing especially on the CELEX database.
You will not be able to pass the exam without a copy of the Consolidated version of the Treaty of Lisbon. It will be available for downloading.
From the third week students will be expected to download case.law from the website, to read them BEFORE CLASSES and be ready for discussion in the practical sessions.
Evaluation method
The midterm test is written and worth 6/20 of your mark. It is mandatory, if you do not attend, you will loose 6 points. Only upon individual and written authorization from the Pedagogical Council may a student who has missed the MT complete an extra group of questions in the Final Exam.
The final Exam is written and is worth 14/20 of your mark.
Practical sessions are considered privileged moments for discussion of case-law.
The number of times a student attends practical sessions will be recorded, and taken into account.
The ability to correctly discuss cases will be taken into account in the final exam and marking.
