Objectivos
This course aims at presenting a rigorous treatment of the methods in Microeconomics.
The course will cover Consumer Theory, Costs and the Firm, and, finally, Markets. The main concepts will be introduced as well as the basic decision-making processes of economic agents in their different roles, as consumers or producers in the marketplace. The institutional context under which decisions are undertaken are also examined in the last part of the course.
The mathematical treatment is soft. However, analytical tools will be required for problem solving
Intuition of the results will be mostly based on graphical illustrations.
The idea of modeling reality should be acquired by the end of the course.
This course is expected to contribute to a better understanding of the real world debates, developing a critical perspective.

In order to help guiding students in the course, we will have two mid-terms (25% each: March 25 and May 13) and a final (50%).
The two mid-terms are mandatory. No make-up exams will be provided.
The two mid-terms will also count for the second chance exam.
