a) Know the state of the art of hospital case-mix management
b) Identify the main patient classification systems for inpatient treatments
c) Analyze critically the main patient classification systems
d) Assess the main advantages and disadvantages of the use of patient classification systems in the Portuguese context
e) Identify the main problems in data available for case-mix management

Teaching method
The teaching methodologies are designed to achieve an active and participated learning. For that, they contain lectures and the discussion of case studies, to stimulate students'' participation in sessions. Evaluation is based on practical work / attendance and/or a written assignment.
