Objectives
The specific objectives of the research project are:
• Develop knowledge which will improve the understanding of the study area;
• Design and execute a research project with a qualitative or quantitative base: Identify and define a research problem; define research objectives; apply the appropriate methodology; discuss the results expected or obtained and present a set of reflections, sustained in the bibliography.
• Encourage the ability to handle situations with a reasonable level of complexity and approaches that warrant a transdisciplinary nature;
• Create competencies for critical reflection on the integration of the various disciplinary perspectives and work developed;
• Being able to share, in an appropriate manner with the other findings of the acquisition of knowledge and skills acquired;
• Acquire skills that throughout life, to contribute to the improvement of knowledge in the research area.
Subject matter
The research project will include the deepening of knowledge in thematic areas within the Master’s attended, always involving critical analysis, based on reflections offered by the "state of art" of the scientific area in which it operates.
The research project will include the following phases:
• Clear identification of a problem or an issue which needs to be answered;
• Formulate questions and / or hypotheses or objectives of intervention on the problem or the initial question;
• Thorough literature review in this area;
• Reasoned and detailed design of a research project or intervention that allows to answer the questions or hypotheses formulated, or programming and implementation of a set of activities that carry out the objectives of the proposed intervention;
• Implementation of the project, assuming a pilot study of limited size, if there is no information available more comprehensive;
• Discussion of the study results in a national and international context.
Teaching method
The teaching-learning process will be conducted under the supervision of a designated supervisor, and will focus on its development beyond the tutorial basis, the promotion of diverse learning situations throughout the project work.
