Objectives
- To know the theoretical background to define Public Health
- To know the historical development of the main Public Health concepts, practices and organizations, in the context of the socio-economic development and development of the health systems in Portugal and abroad ;
- To present a useful framework for Public Health practice, including social determinants of health and inequalities ;
- To know effective strategies for reducing inequities;
- To know the pathogenic and salutogenic health frameworks and their implications in terminology and application in public health strategies
- To identify the different roles in health promotion and protection at different levels of decision - governmental, regional, local individual level;
- To know the main challenges of Public Health in Portugal and abroad;
- To know the main issues related to implementation and knowledge translation
