Objectives
The objectives of the UC of Internal Medicine
Collection and medical history record;
Examination of achievement goal;
Correct interpretation of the results from the clinical history and physical examination;
Proper management of complementary diagnostics, including laboratory;
Identification of the principles of clinical decision making;
Communication with patients and their families, as well as other professionals involved in patient care;
Development of understanding of what it means to be a doctor, identity and professional responsibility, values and attitudes that physicians should cultivate.

Teaching method
The course is divided into two initial weeks of lectures and twelve weeks following with theoretical and practical classes and contact with the hospital. The lectures will be taught with the help of computer support methods. The practical classes will be taught with the aid of media. In teaching hospital will be performed at the bedside and includes visits to the infirmary.
At the end of the course a written exam will be done. This exam will consist of a multiple choice test and includes questions of all matter taught in lectures and theoretical-practical and the hospital contact. There will also be continuous assessment based on tender procedures during the practical training at the hospital.
For the realization of the theory test is required the presence of the student in at least 2/3 of the contact period with the hospital. This rule does not apply to students with special statutes.
The marks obtained in the written test is 60% of the final score (continuous evaluation - 40%). |
