Teaching method
Expositive theoretical classes in amphitheater, maximum duration of 50 minutes including presentation and discussion. These classes take place on the Tuesdays afternoon.
In the practical training, the maximum of 3 students per teacher is established, and the classes of 4 hours take place every working days during morning. Depending on the setting and type of training, the following teaching methods are used:
- Bedside teaching
- Discussion of clinical cases in small groups of students
- Seminars organized by students, being the teacher the moderator
- Role-playing, with the student in the role of the doctor and the teacher (doctor) in the role of the adolescent or its accompanying person.
- Observation of multidisciplinary discussion of cases.
Evaluation method
The final classification is the mean of continuous assessment in practical classes and of written exam.
The written exam consists of a multiple choice test including 50 questions, each question consists of a statement and 4 sub-questions which responses that may be true or false.
In practical training, the assessment criteria is based on attendance, punctuality, interest, participation, and knowledge progress. The practical training is weighted as hospital 50%, adolescent health 30%, and primary health care 20%.
