Prerequisites

Subject matter

The syllabus of this course is structured taking as its fundamental domain of analysis the specific contexts that determine tastes, experiences and particular habits, giving rise to a material culture with specific characteristics. It also includes the agents involved (commissioners, brokers, artists, craftsmen) and the subsequent reception and consumption of these objects.
Based on the selection of several fields of study of the so called \"decorative arts\" as well as case studies that illustrate the diversity, complexity and richness of this universe, the syllabus is thus coherent with the curricular unit´s objectives.
