Objectives
Achieve skills compatible with part of level B2 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
a) Can understand the main ideas of a long and complex discourse of its expertise.
b) Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
c) Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
d) Can get a knowledge of the cultural and literary life in francophone countries and relevant events in the life of the twentieth century for a better understanding of French society today and its ties with the Francophone countries.
e) Can understand that language it´s a way to express cultural identity.

B1.2 level
Subject matter
The course resolves around various topics and presents :
1 – Listening and reading activities from authentic documents (novel, newspaper articles, TV reports, audio and video recordings)
2 - Written and oral interaction activities : discussions and simulation of authentic oral communication situations.
3 – Speaking and writing activities of various types of text (descriptive, narrative, explanatory, argumentative and dialogical).
4 – Various activities for the acquisition of grammar and vocabulary necessary to achieve different communicative tasks (level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference)

Assessment is continuous and formative consisting of:
2 written tests in class : 50%
1 spoken task (discursive/informative): 1 individual – 25%
Active participation in class and homework – 25%
Minimum attendance: 70% of classes (except student workers)
