Objectives
1. To reflect upon the German language genesis
2. To identify and to characterize the different historic periods of the German language
3. To demonstrate and to systematize the most marked phonological, morphological, syntactic and lexical changes for each one of the different historical periods
4. To recognize and to explain the permanence in the modern German of vestiges belonging to previous historical periods
