Teaching method
The seminars are both theoretical and practical. The activities will be based on three main phases: 1) enunciation of topics of the syllabus focussing specifically on historical and theoretical issues; development of methods of efficient organization of information and development of critical skills as well as methods for management of research resources; reading critical studies and literary bibliography aiming to provide students with significant scientific autonomy and the capacity to evaluate their learning progress; 2) supervised practical analysis of critical and literary texts chosen according to the perspective of the course and relevance for their study; and 3) preparation of the students to produce an essay on a topic of the syllabus.
Evaluation method
Assessment will focus on two main areas: 1) oral presentations, with prior tutorial supervision, on the themes/works under anaslysis (60%); and 2) the production of an individual essay (15 pages) to be discussed orally with the class (40%).
