Objectives
Ensure learning of the main concepts related with Mobility and Transportation, namely:
- Definition of a transportation network, available modes, integration and intermodality mechanisms;
- Characterization and operation of public transports networks;
- Traffic flows characterization;
- Flows regulation in intersections;
- Requirements of a urban mobility plan;
- General concepts of road traffic safety.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Transport Infrastructures and Urban Planning.
Subject matter
Transportation modes: types, integration and intermodality;
Public transports: characteristics, operation and design;
Road traffic: flows, characterisation, capacity and service levels;
Signs-controlled intersections, traffic lights regulated and gyratory;
Mobility plans;
Road traffic safety.
