Objectives
- Know the global epidemiology of tuberculosis (TB) and other micobacteriosis, demographic factors, mechanisms of transmission and dissemination. How the health system and the laboratory is organized to prevent transmi ssion, in particular of resistant strains and their interconnection with the co-infection with HIV. - Know the biological characteristics of etiological agents of TB and other micobacteriosis; - Know and describe the imunofisiopathology of mycobacteriosis and the clinical manifestations of the various forms of TB; - Know the classic techniques of clinical micobacteriology, theoretical and practical knowledge of laboratory techniques for TB, leprosy and other micobacteriosis diagnosis. - Know the basics of management of laboratories in programmes to combat TB and procedures for monitoring therapy. The external and internal quality control.
Prerequisites

Teaching method
- Total number of working hours- Total 16 contact hours: 48 hours of work T: Theorectical lectures hours 2/week (of 8 hours, for 4 weeks) TP- Theoretical-practical classes. 2/week time (of 8 hours, for 4 weeks) 1) Theoretical, slide show based, accompanied by indication of supplementary bibliography. 2) Lectures with presentation and resolution of practical cases of application of some of the methodologies discussed the cases of diagnostic / monitoring / characterization of mycobacterial infections and characterization of the profile of drug resistance.
Evaluation method
