Objectives

We have developed this Curricular Unit to respond to difficulties among internet information users in identifying, evaluating, selecting, locating and accessing relevant information sources that can address specific information needs and objectives.

The main objective of this unit is to help students with a set of critical information skills, in the biomedical information literacy area, that have been recognized as crucial for academic achievement and life-long learning development in an increasingly competitive and global context.

Teaching method

The lectures are predominantly expository (oral presentation MSpowerpoint e Internet). In practical classes the students will solve Group exercises and practice searches in biomedical resources. In the theoretical classes it will prevail a strong interaction between concepts and their practical application.

Evaluation method

The students have a final examination worth 100%, it’s an evaluation test (multiple-choice questions and 1 essay question).
