Objectives
A) Define the uses of the visual image in anthropology and analyse the relations between these and the documentary as a cinematographic genre and a practice of research and production of knowledge in anthropology.
B) Reflect on the questions of authenticity, representation and ethics in the use of the image.
C) Develop the cinematographic and anthropological gaze in research and production of knowledge in anthropology.

4) Contemporary approaches and themes of cinema in anthropology.

Teaching method
The classes include a theoretical presentation of a specific problem, viewing of films related to that subject and participation of the students in the discussion. In the middle of the semester, students will make a presentation in class of a theoretical-practical work.
Evaluation method
10% participation and attendance
40% theoretical-practical photography work (10% written proposal, 30% presentation and oral discussion of the work)
50% final essay (5 pages) written at home + mini short test written in class
