Objectives

a) To recognize the importance of the interdisciplinary approach in the analysis of the environmental problems;
b) To understand the characteristics of environmental degradation and the use of natural resources;
c) To argue the advantages and disadvantages of the environment and economic policies, actions and measures;
d) To evaluate the effect of the globalization in the state of the environment and exploration of the natural resources;
e) To analyze the environment in Portugal, as well as the existing natural resources;
f) To develop and to apply the knowledge acquired in the diagnosis of environmental questions
g) To interpret and analyze a set of articles and data.

Teaching method

- Theoretical lessons with presentation of an introduction to the themes of Environment and Natural Resources
- Mostly participative lessons, encouraging the interaction student-instructor and student-student with presentations by students on the seminar theme;
- Research work supervising

Evaluation method

- Two oral presentations with Power Point and preparation of form with title, keywords, plan, abstract and bibliography (30%)
- Development of a research project supported by field work, literature and diverse documentary information resulting from autonomous research with oral presentation and written presentation as a paper and as a poster (55%)
