Objectives

1. To acquire specific theoretical principles and methodologies in Terminology;
2. To understand the functioning of specialized language (Languages for Specific Purposes - LSP);
3. To be able to identify terms, collocations and phraseologies;
4. To apply methods to organize textual data;
5. To acquire technics to search terminological information;
6 To develop and manage terminology databases.

Subject matter

Teaching methodologies: In class the students will learn to use specific software in order to work with electronic corpus and in order to extract terminological data.
Evaluation:
Practical exercises in class and the production of an individual paper (40%);
Final test that covers the theoretical aspects of the CU (60%).
