Objectives
It is intended that the student: 1. Is acquainted with language sciences concepts, theories and methodologies (within the corresponding subarea) in particular those more closely related to the project. 2. Identifies a subject or problem and demonstrates the need to / the importance of the project for its adequate treatment or resolution. 3. Defines the project to be developed including: state of the art; objectives, methodologies, expected results, possible resources or tools to be created or enhanced. 4. Writes a correct project essay. 5. Shows to be able to pursue his academic career and / or to initiate a professional career in language sciences, within the chosen subarea.
Prerequisites
Subject matter
The students carry out a project according to one of the two alternatives below: 1. Design of a research project on a subject relevant to language sciences, within one of the masters scientific branches - Linguistic Revision and Consultancy; Language Development and Language Impairment; Linguistics; Terminology and Specialized Information Management. 2. Design and development of an original application that aims at responding to social, cultural and / or economic necessities. The project is described in a written essay, including the projects objectives and context (s) of application, potential target groups, review of the scientific and technical bibliography, presentation of the results and justification of the foreseen material and human resources.

A definir em função da área de especialização e do tema do trabalho de projeto. To be defined in accordance with the scientific branch and the projects subject.
Teaching method
The project is supervised by one of the teachers of the academic staff, following the established principles of
tutorial supervision, in accordance with the regulations of study cycle. The definition of specific methodologies for the supervision depends on the projects subject, in accordance with the scientific branch chosen by the student (cf. 6.2.1.5.).
