Objectives
In this course, students will be introduced to two different areas of journalism: Cultural Journalism and Political Journalism. The two modules of this course will be taught by two different teachers, both professional journalists in their area of expertise.
In this course, it is expected that students:
1) understand the main characteristics of the journalistic beats to be studied;
2) can identify the main challenges of these journalism beats;
3) will be able to produce high quality journalistic texts in both these areas.

Subject matter
The syllabus of this course will cover: a) the context of Cultural and Political Journalism; b) the present situation and significance of Cultural and Political Journalism; c) the main characteristics of both areas of journalism; d) the most frequent types of pieces in both areas; e) the production of journalistic pieces in both areas.

Teaching method
The course will combine theoretical exposition with collective discussion of journalistic texts produced by students and work in lab.

Evaluation method
The final evaluation will take into account the work produced in Cultural Journalism ( 50%) and Political Journalism ( 50%).
