Objectives

It is intended that the student: 1. Applies scientific and methodological knowledge, within the chosen subarea, as well as soft skills to the professional work to be carried out. 2. Acquires / develops professional abilities such as communication skills, teamwork and responsibility. 3. Develops his autonomy and critical thinking in order to propose creative and innovative solutions for the professional activity. 4. Writes a correct traineeship report. 5. Shows to be able to pursue his academic career and / or to initiate a professional career in language sciences, within the chosen subarea.

Prerequisites

Subject matter

The traineeship takes place in a public or private institution with which FCSH has established an agreement and ensures the performance of relevant professional tasks, involving the application of theoretical and practical skills acquired through the master curriculum. The traineeship follows a previously established plan, set by a responsible from the host institution (the external tutor), by a FCSH supervisor and by the student. The FCSH supervisor must confirm the plan’s coherence with the learning outcomes of the curricular unit. The traineeship report includes: the description of the host institution and of the work to be carried out; the specific completed tasks; relevant theoretical and methodological issues. The student must also prepare the presentation and discussion of the traineeship report.

Teaching method

The duration of the work placement within the traineeship is 400 hours / 800 hours. The traineeship work is supervised by a responsible from the host institution (the external tutor). The traineeship work itself is not formally evaluated, but it is described in a report written by the student. The report is publicly presented, discussed and evaluated. During the 3rd semester the students have a weekly meeting with the internal supervisor (1 hour) for the assessment of the work in progress and the elaboration of the report.

Evaluation method

Courses
