Objectives

Main Objectives:

Provide students with skills in the area of sustainable mobility, physical planning, environmental planing and sustainable land management, focusing at the local scale.

Has 4 specific objectives:

1. To be able to define and propose solutions for a mobility problem related to the FCT/UNL Campus.

2. Provide and apply techniques and methods of characterization, diagnosis and assessment of physical and environmental sustainability of a territory.

3. Learn with local projects of good practice already implemented. Emphasis on Urban Regeneration and Sustainable Energy in the local context.

4. Provide student with techniques and methods for local sustainable development, such as Local Agenda 21 and Neighbouhood Sustainable Planning.

Subject matter

Weeks 1 - 5. Sustainable Mobility and the University Campus FCT/UNL in Monte da Caparica. Practical Exercise -- Hands on problem solving.

Weeks 6 - 7. Planning Technics and Environmental Sustainability.

Weeks 8 - 11. Good Practice Projects for Local Sustainability. Case-study analyses in Lisbon Metropolitan Area

Weeks 12 - 14. Instruments for the Integrated Planning of Local Sustainability.
