Education objectives
In a society in which studies about security and defense extend to the new social and economic dimensions in complex international contexts, this postgraduate programin Intelligence Management and Security focuses on analytical tools andmethodologies needed to evaluate, manage, and make decisions in this field.
The postgraduate program in Intelligence Management and Security will respond to challenges posed by the new framework ofinternational security and defense and the challenges of globalization that shape the relations of worldwide powers, in which the strategic decision processes and framework of security and information must be addressed.
Among the potential target of this postgraduate program, those who work in the fields of information and security, in particular elements of the forces and security services, military, decision-making support and competitive intelligence managers, NGO technicians, other technicians of the public administration responsible for information, stand out in the admission process.
The goal of this program is to train technical staff and managers to:
- Obtain comprehensive skills in the various stages of the information production cycle;
- Understand, analyze, and research globalization processes;
- Demonstrate knowledge of intelligence and information gathering, and techniques of data analysis;
- Communicate complex issues, clearly and effectively;
- Promote key skills to support decision making, enhanced by the use of Competitive Intelligence and Business processes;
- Understand the role of strategic intelligence to support decision making.
Applications - academic year 2017/2018
To complete the application, the applicant must register in NOVA IMS' Applications Portal, fill the form, upload their Curriculum Vitae and submit the application in the end, from April 4th to May 11th, 2017. The selection process is based on the analysis of the applicant's academic and professional curriculum, and an interview.
Access conditions
The requirements for the applications are: a degree in a compatible field; analysis of the applicants' academic and professional curriculum; and an interview conducted by the Admissions' Jury Panel.
Degree pre-requisites
The curriculum of the postgraduate program consists of 8 mandatory course units, a total of 60 ECTS.
