Objectives
This Curricular unit focus on introducing the Geographic Information science gield. It established the key compoments of the discipline and particularly stresses the realationship between technology, data, methods and organizations. Provides a an intriduction to the development and termilology of this discipline and to the great domains of Geographic Information Systems aplications.
The main objectives of this curricular unit are:
- Provide a wide descrption of the scope and nature of Geographic Information Science.
- Define the nature of Geographic Information Systems and the key compoments of the study area of Geogrpahic Information Systems and Science
- Establish the relationships between technology, data, methods and organizations in the use of Geographic Information Systems.
- Present the main problems associated with the use of Geographic Information Systems
- Identify the main questions related to the design, creation and working of Goegrpahic Information Systems
