Objectives
The aim of this course is to motivate the students with the use of simple analytical tools to interpret and discuss current macroeconomic problems, as well as the role of policies in addressing these problems. The real‐world‐oriented approach will materialize with the discussion of non‐technical articles.

Teaching method
The teaching includes reviews of models already introduced in undergraduate macro, as well as the introduction of other simple tools. The sessions will include formal lecturing, resolution of exercises and discussion of articles.
Evaluation method
Class participation, writing of an article at the Nova Workboard (10%)*, two mid‐term assessments (60%), and a final exam (30%).
*Articles (only one per group) have to be signed by two students and shall address topics covered in the course. The articles will be evaluated taking into account the quality of the technical discussion and the ability of the student to apply the theories learned in the course.
