Teaching method
Evaluation method
The evaluation comprises two components: a written theoretical test, which will be repeated in the exam for those who have not attended it, or want to raise the grade, and a group assignment. To be successful, students must have at least a grade of 9.5 over 20 on the theoretical test or final exam and the final average of all assessment components must be greater than or equal to 9.5 over 20. The weight of the grade of the written theoretical test, or exam, in the final grade is 50%
The remaining 50% of the final grade is obtained through two components:
1) Evaluation of the group assignment itself. This grade is the same for all students in the group, and has a weight of 35% in the final grade.
2) Quality of the individual contribution of the student for the evaluation of the assignments of other groups (peer reviewing). This part has a weight of 15% in the final grade.
These two components give "frequency" when they have each one, (1) and (2) a grade greater than or equal to 8 (over 20). Students whithout "frequência" fail, no matter what grade they have obtained in the written theoretical test.
