Objectives

  • Provide a learning experience through the implementation of projects with impact that help in the pursuit of the mission of social or public organizations.

  • Teaching method

    This course will be taught theory and practice and follows a methodology based on project based learning, case study and non-formal education. Active participation in theoretical and practical classes is essential.

    Theoretical Classes

    Students learn the tools they need to plan and execute their project and are also exposed to different examples of organizations and social enterprises. Students will have access to the theoretical or introductory notebooks the previous week to allow more interactive classes, as well as the possibility to bring questions or doubts. Some theoretical modules will be given by guest speakers, Accenture or others. Students should take the opportunity to ask questions about the subject or their professional / personal interest, whenever they wish.

    Practical classes

    Active participation in all classes is essential. In the first half of the semester we intend to consolidate the tools learned through application and experimentation. In the second half practical classes are compulsory but available for students to work in groups.

    Homework is mandatory. Its accomplishment is essential to prepare the practical classes and their debates. Homework will have to be submitted (in moodle) only in some cases.

    Evaluation method

    I - Aulas práticas: 20%

    II - Apresentação intermédia do projecto: 20%

    III - Apresentação final do projecto: 40%

    IV - Exame escrito: 20%.
