Teaching method

Since this unit is aimed at understanding the general principles of bacterial genetics ad Posttranscriptional control of gene expression and RNA biology, the theoretical lectures and practical classes given in this unit are suitable for achieving the objectives.

Evaluation method

The theoretical lectures are taught by teachers of curricular unit, depending on the respective specializations. In the lectures the teachers will address issues considered essential by providing data to guide students to an individual study.

In the practical classes the students will execute methods which were described in the lectures. The students will have the opportunity to give a seminar in proposed topics; this will revise and enlarge the program of the lectures.

Evaluation of the students - 10% - Continuous evaluation based in the participation of the students in the classes., 40% - report of the practical classes and evaluation of the oral seminar, 50% - final written exam (the exam will have multiple choice questions).

The curricular unit and the lecturers will also be evaluated by the students.
