Objectives
1. To familiarize the students with the application of the concepts of nationalism and ethnicity in the approach of the contemporary world
2. To develop knowledge about the theoretical-conceptual framework about nation, nationalism, national identity, ethnicity and transnationalism
3. To familiarize the students with the anthropological debates about nationalism, ethnicity and transnationalism
4. Stimulate and develop critical analysis of ethnographies related with the syllabus

Teaching method
The course is organized in two types of classes:
1. Lectures
2. Oral presentation and discussion of texts by groups of students.
Evaluation method
1. 50% - Oral presentation of texts + written essay by groups of students
2. 40% - Written Test
3. 10% - Regular attendance and active participation in class and seminars
