Objectives
The aims of this curricular unit are:
a) Recognize the importance of interdisciplinary analysis of the level of risk and vulnerability in the occurrence of natural and technological disasters,
b) Understand the different scales and magnitudes at which these phenomena occur,
c) Evaluate the effects of the occurrence of these phenomena at the environmental, social and economic level;
d) Analyse the type and frequency of these natural and technological disasters in Portugal.
e) Evaluate policies and measures for adaptation and mitigation to natural hazards and technological
The competencies to be acquired include methodological knowledge of diagnostic techniques and instruments for monitoring and preventing such phenomena
