Education objectives
The European Network of Excellence NanoMemPro (acronym for “Expanding membrane macro scale applications by exploring nanoscale material properties”), was funded in the scope of the FP6
http://www.nanomempro.euromemhouse.com/) and has created a legal entity, the European Membrane House (http://www.euromemhouse.com) which now host all activities.
One of the main objectives of NanoMemPro was the establishment of long-term synergies in Europe.
The creation of education programmes in Membrane Engineering was strongly supported by the
Club of Interest of NanoMemPro gathering a significant number of small and medium-sized enterprises and large industrial companies.
The AM3E project is believed to answer the industrial and academic needs in terms of background and advanced knowledge in Membrane Science, by bringing together the expertise of the best
European Universities working in the field.
Access conditions
Entry Requirements:
To be eligible for the EM3E programme, students should hold a 1st cycle degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bio Engineering, related Bioscience or equivalent degrees from a College, University or Technical School with a recognised standing or alternatively, a recognised professional experience in these areas. Students in the final year of a degree may be admitted as long as they present the certificate and official transcripts before enrolment.
The Admission and Examination Committee is composed of 1 member from each partner university and is responsible for establishing a pre-selection of students based on their CV analysis.
The selected students will be evaluated through a phone or videoconference interview in English to assess their motivation, their skills and their English level. To ensure equity between the students and a fair and homogeneous interview, a list of mandatory questions will be established by the members of the Committee.

Evaluation rules
The following modes of evaluation are used with regard to academic qualifications:
- Evaluation based solely on an examination or completion of a final project.
- Evaluation based on work done throughout the semester excluding examination or final project. In these courses students can expect to carry out, for example, laboratory activities, mini-tests, tests, individual or group projects, seminar-related activities, any combination of which will be used to determine the final grade.
- Evaluation based obligatorily on an examination or a final project. In these courses there extists a form of evaluation similar to one of the aformentioned activities in paragraph 2 as well as a form of evaluation based on a final exam.
- Evaluation based on work done throughout the semester with the possibility of foregoing an examination or a final project.
The Dissertation seminar includes a public presentation, before a Jury, in accordance with legal statutes.
