Schedule
It depends on the working method of each training course. The working time for the classes will be agreed with each PhD student, or when there are more than 10 students in each year, it will be agreed with all students of the programme.
Education objectives
The PhD Programme in Mathematics, aims at achieving a PhD Course, consisting of courses aimed at training for research in mathematics and the achievement of an original thesis, which contributes to extending the frontiers of knowledge and whose content has earned acceptance in international publications with proven selection committee.
Access conditions
Admission Requirements:
Candidates who meet at least one of the conditions expressed in the following paragraphs:
a)To hold a master´s degree or legal equivalent. The candidates must have a final mark of fourteen points in these cycles.
b) To hold a graduate degree and being holder of an academic or scientific curriculum that is recognized by the Scientific Council of FCT-UNL as evidence of ability to complete this course;
c) To hold an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized by the Scientific Council of FCT-UNL as evidence of ability to complete this course.
Criteria for ranking of candidates:
a. classification of the Masters and / or the Bachelor;
b. academic and scientific curriculum;
c. professional resume;
d. possible interview.
