Objectives
Meetings are designed toward the understanding of laws and concepts of Physics (Electromagnetism) and their application to the resolution of real problems. In laboratory classes, the emphasis is given to the experimental methods of Physics, metrology, and scientific reporting.
Subject matter
Students develop laboratory experiments that can be easily replicated
in 3rd level and secondary portuguese schools, without the use of
expensive materials.
Bibliography
the students are guided through the research of scientific articles that help to implement the work they have proposed.
Teaching method
- Concepts, demonstration and application exercise
- Laboratory sessions: Realization of experiments and analysis of the obtained result.
- List of Applets for virtual demonstration and experiments.
Evaluation method
The evaluation of the experiences proposed by the students takes into account the
two written reports: i) one to be eventually distributed to the students of the schools
that participate in those sessions and ii) the other more scientifically informed.
In addition to those reports, the importance of work for the subjects taught in school
education and its ease of implementation are assessed.
