Objectives

  1. To apply the rules of Technical Drawing in order to achieve the graphical representation of mechanical components.
  2. To read and execute orthogonal projections and to draw them either by using a computer aided design software (CAD 2D) or by free-hand.
  3. To understand the rules of Technical Drawing in order to draw axonometric projections (perspectives).
  4. To understand the rules of Technical Drawing in order to draw assemblages of components.
  5. To be capable to model and to assemble non-complex tridimensional parts using a Computer-Aided Design software.
  6. To know how to 3D print the parts modelled.

Teaching method

The oral exposition is essentially the teaching method used, associated with sketches, schemes and resumes made by the teacher in the classroom blackboard. The video projector is also used in the classroom.The teacher solves some typical problems to teach the strategy of resolution to the students.

Then some practical problems are presented and the students have to answer them in the classroom in a period of time.

Evaluation method

  • The evaluation of knowledge during the semester will be done by two tests (T1 and T2) and one practical work (PW).
  • The admission to the exam (frequency) is obtainedif the classification in the practical work is equal or higher than 9.50 (out of 20)The frequency is valid for one year.
  • The approval during the semester will depend on frequency result and on the final evaluation, NF, which should be equal or higher than 9.50, and that will be calculated by the following formula:
                                NF=0,4xT1 + 0,4xT2 + 0,2xTP
  • During Época de Recurso, the final grade, NF, will be equal to the classification obtained by the student in the exam and the approval will depend on a value of NF equal or higher than 9.50 (out of 20).
