Objectives

This Curricular Unit aims to provide the student with the skills to prepare a micro-review of the literature focusing on a specific topic within the theme of the master''s thesis the student is developing.

The student will thus develop capabilities of appropriate literature selection, as well as synthesis abilities.

The student will also:

- Develop attitudes of scientific rigor

- Use the basic methodologies of scientific work

- Consolidate techniques of bibliographic research, structuring, indexing and writing

Subject matter

As this Curricular Unit is directly related to the subject of each master''s thesis / dissertation, the syllabus contents will be adapted to the theme that each student is developing.

The following general contents will be approached:

- Research processes: objects, sources, hypotheses, methods and work plans.

- Research and strategies: bibliography and electronic resource research platforms.

Bibliography

Mainly based on recently published scientific articles related to the topic of Training / Dissertation that each student is developing.

Teaching method

The teaching methodologies are theoretical-practical and practical. It will always be based on the theme of each master''s thesis to be developed by the student. This UC will be developed mostly through tutorial guidance. 

Evaluation method

The evaluation consists of a written work and a presentation with discussion of the contents presented. The final classification is given by presentation and discussion, by jury. The jury chairperson will read all written papers, which correspond to the review article, and may change the final mark by more or less 1 value.
