Objectives
The main objectives are to provide and deepen a set of concepts, methods and techniques that allow students to analyze the role of mobility and transport in spatial urban organization, sustainable development and quality of life of its users.
The EU and national guidelines and methodologies for sustainable mobility are reviewed. Best practices in leading cities on accessibility and sustainable mobility are highlighted.
It emphasizes environmental friendly modes, public transport and the relationship between accessibility and urban planning, as in the Transit Oriented Development (TOD). Other modes of transport are also analysed as elements of the integrated mobility system.

Teaching method
Exposition of the theoretical and practical contents by means of slides projected by the professor. Discussion in groups about crucial themes.
Analysis of case studies. Exercises of application of techniques and methods in practical lessons. Field studies.
Individual works on special themes. Team works about audits in sustainability of a urban space in the city of Lisbon.
Evaluation method
The evaluation of knowledge is carried out through three components essentially based on group work, but with an indication of the responsibilities and involvement of each student in their accomplishment.
Active participation in classes and performance in oral presentations is also valued.
